Honda Ridgeline recalled for fire risk caused by car wash soap | Fox News

The issue stems from the Ridgeline’s fuel pump feed port, which can be corroded over time by the kinds of acids found in some car wash soaps, leading to cracks that may allow gas to leak out.

Honda has not advised owners to refrain from driving or washing their vehicles.

The recall is scheduled to being March 7.

Honda is also recalling approximate 437,000 vehicles across several other model lines for an unrelated fuel pump issue caused by sodium particulates in gasoline sticking to internal components that could lead to stalling. The action covers model-year 2016-2018 Acura MDXs, 2015-2019 Acura TLX V6s and 2015-2017 Honda Accord V6s.
