Two teenage girls killed in crash on Interstate 80

Two high school students were killed when the SUV they were in crashed into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 Sunday night.

The crash happened near mile-marker 14.

The girls have been identified as Alexis Myers, 16, and Danielle Nelson, 15.

Both were students at Hickory High School in Hermitage.

Police said the pair were riding in their SUV with two other girls who have been treated and released from the hospital.

At the time of the crash the teens were on their way to a “Young Life” faith-based event at Grove City College.

While police say the SUV lost control before the crash, the official cause has not been released.
