Wind farms are an important source of renewable energy. They generate electricity by removing energy from the wind. A switch from fossil fuels to wind energy could help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and subsequent global warming. But wind farms also modify local climate and affect the transfer of energy, mass and moisture within the air. Therefore, large-scale wind farms can also lead to climate change.

PITTSBURGH — Mike Tomlin is no longer holding back on the way NFL games are officiated.

Asked about linebacker Bud Dupree‘s two face mask penalties, Tomlin said the calls looked legitimate, then hinted many more were not.
“But some of the other stuff, man, is a joke,” Tomlin said. “We gotta get better as a National Football League. Man, these penalties are costing people games and jobs. We gotta get ’em correct. And so I’m pissed about it, to be quite honest with you. But that’s all I’m gonna say on it.”
Twenty people died on Saturday after a limousine crashed in upstate New York, in what safety officials are calling the nation’s worst road accident in nearly a decade.
The crash occurred when a 2001 Ford Excursion limousine, carrying people through the historic town of Schoharie, about 45 minutes west of Albany, failed to stop at an intersection with State Route 30, said Christopher Fiore, first deputy superintendent of the New York State Police.
The limousine crashed into a 2015 Toyota Highlander parked near the Apple Barrel Country Store. All 18 people in the limo, including the driver, died. Two pedestrians who were struck also lost their lives.
“This is the most deadly transportation accident in this country since February of 2009,” National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Robert Sumwalt told reporters.
