Thieves steal entire German vineyard – BBC News

Police in southern Germany are looking for thieves who stole an entire vineyard of grapes from under their noses.

The criminals made off with the field full of grapes by “running a professional harvesting machine over the entire vineyard”, the police said, according to the local Rheinpfalz newspaper.

Most galling of all for the police is the fact that the vineyard does not lie on some remote hillside, but is to be found right next to the car park of a major supermarket on the outskirts of the village of Deidesheim.

The criminals made off with the field full of grapes worth 8,000 euros.

First case of human contracting rat hepatitis E discovered in Hong Kong | FOX 13 Tampa Bay

The first known case of a human infected with rat hepatitis E was confirmed in Hong Kong.

University of Hong Kong researchers said a 56-year-old man developed the disease a few months after undergoing a liver transplant in May 2017. Rat hepatitis E is the rat version of the disease, which causes an inflammation of the liver.

Genetic sequencing revealed similarities with the rat form of the disease, and the man was given antiretroviral treatment. Researchers are not sure how the man developed the disease, but said it is unlikely he received it from another human. They said he lives in a housing estate where there is evidence of a rat infestation, and the rodents  may have infected his food supply.

Manafort meets with Mueller prosecutors – POLITICO

Paul Manafort met Monday with special counsel Robert Mueller’s office as part of his cooperation agreement in the special counsel’s investigation into Russia interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The sit-down at the special counsel’s downtown Washington D.C. office stems from Manafort’s guilty plea last month, which requires the former Trump campaign chairman to cooperate “fully, truthfully, completely, and forthrightly…in any and all matters as to which the government deems the cooperation relevant.”
