Unstable Dam Prompts Emergency Evacuations In Derry Borough « CBS Pittsburgh

An unstable dam prompted the emergency evacuation of all residents living along McGee Run in Derry Borough on Monday.

Around 7 p.m., officials announced the mandatory evacuation order had been lifted.

Elsewhere in Westmoreland County, the Youghiogheny River began overflowing its banks in the area of Sutersville and West Newton.

A man driving a pickup truck just happened by and saw the woman trapped on the vehicle’s rooftop. He helped her down and police then took her to where she worked.
