Instead, Jonathan Hausmann and his colleagues found an average normal temperature in adults of 97.7 degrees, as measured with an oral thermometer. (The published study uses results from 329 healthy adults.) As for fever, Hausmann found that it begins at 99.5 degrees, on average.

A 29-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, early Friday morning.
The coroner identified the victim as Ryan J. Winter, of Plum.The accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. in the area of Hillview Road and Route 130.
According to preliminary data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017 was the worst year for drug overdose deaths in US history. That year, more than 72,000 people died of overdoses — or nearly 200 people a day. That’s more overdose deaths in a single year than ever before, and at least two-thirds of those deaths were linked to opioids.
