Pizza delivery driver robbed and forced into trunk of car in Pittsburgh’s Elliott neighborhood

Pittsburgh police are investigating a reported robbery of a pizza delivery driver who told police he was then forced into the trunk of his own car and driven an unknown distance before being left in the back of the vehicle.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, the delivery driver told police he stopped his vehicle around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of the 900 block of Phoenix Street when three armed men approached him and stole money, his car keys, wallet, cell phone and shoes.

No arrests have been announced.

Police, Fire, EMS Respond for A Single Vehicle Crash, One Male Injured

Just before two a.m, Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3, Pittsburgh Fire and EMS were dispatched for a single vehicle crash into a structure in the 4100 block of East Carson.

When they arrived on scene the vehicle was almost fully engulfed in flames, which PBF Engine 24 extinguished. The building and Duquesne Light poles had also sustained damage.

The male driver of the vehicle was located with a serious injury to his wrist and transported in stable condition to the hospital by medics.

There was an initial concern that there were other people inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, but Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and family members of the victim were able to confirm the driver had been the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and the cause of the crash will be investigated.

Tractor-trailer rollover crash spills ice cream on Parkway West

A tractor-trailer rollover crash spilled ice cream on the Parkway West.

The driver crashed on the Parkway West between Campbells Run Road and Ridge Drive on Tuesday afternoon, spilling ice cream and damaging the guard rail. The driver was not injured.

The crash has been cleared, and all lanes have reopened to traffic.

Pittsburgh police arrested a man who was wanted for an incident that left a woman dead and another person injured on the border of two Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

Pittsburgh Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on January 23 that led to finding a woman struck by a car and a man with a gunshot wound to the head.

One Flown To Hospital After Rt. 8 Crash – ButlerRadio.com – Butler, PA

One person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after a crash on Route 8 North last night.

It happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection with the Clearview Mall and Sheetz gas station.

Dispatchers say three vehicles were involved in the crash, but the cause of the accident is not known at this point.

Life Flight was called to land at the mall parking lot to take one person to a Pittsburgh trauma center for a head injury. Another person was also injured, but was not taken to the hospital.

Crews cleared the scene by 10 p.m.

Pittsburgh police arrest 2 men after a chase on and off the Parkway, at least 2 cars struck Triblive.com

Two men were arrested by Pittsburgh Police after a chase ended in a crash downtown Wednesday evening.

Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz reported plainclothes detectives saw a man wanted on a federal drug warrant in the parking lot of a gas station at Beechwood Boulevard and Browns Hill Road shortly before 5 p.m.

Another man got out of a vehicle and got into one with the warrant suspect.

Cruz said the men fled as detectives began approaching them, with the suspects taking off onto the Parkway, nearly hitting one of the detectives.

A chase ensued. The suspects’ vehicle struck at least two and possibly three vehicles before exiting the Parkway and crashing at Fort Pitt Boulevard and Stanwix Street Downtown, Cruz said.

No injuries were reported.

The men were identified as James Montgomery and Darryl Lewis, both of Hazelwood.

Kiski Township officers accuse woman of drunken driving with 2 toddlers, infant in vehicle; felony charges filed 

Kiski Township police accused a woman of driving drunk with her three young children in the vehicle when she failed three field sobriety tests after jumping the curb. Officers responding to a report of a single-vehicle crash shortly after 8 p.m. Dec. 1 said they found a Nissan Juke SUV up on the curb in front of a used car lot in the 2100 block of River Road in North Apollo, according to a criminal complaint.

Jocelyn Alalah Riley, 24, of the 100 block of Ivy Lane in Parks Township was charged with three felony counts of endangering the welfare of children along with three counts of reckless endangerment and counts of driving under the influence, careless driving and ignoring a traffic signal.

Pickup truck goes off the road during crash in Westmoreland County

A pickup truck went off the road during a crash in Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County, on Friday morning.

The crash happened a little before 4 a.m. on Route 259 between Mustang Lane and Derry Ridge Road.

The pickup truck was towed from the scene.

2 women seriously injured in Route 22 crash in Westmoreland County

Emergency crews have responded to Route 22 in Murrysville at Harrison City Export Road for a vehicle crash injuring two women.

A tractor-trailer was also involved in the incident. The driver was not hurt, police said.

Witnesses on the scene told police it appeared the car pulled out in front of the truck ahead of the crash.

Human remains found over a hillside near Worthington

 

WORTHINGTON — Human remains were found Monday morning in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, according to a press release issued by the office of Armstrong County Coroner Brian K. Myers.

Hunters found a motorcycle over a hillside along Nichola Road in the township. The license was registered to a missing person out of Allegheny County, according the release.

Allegheny County Police posted late Monday afternoon that the license plate was registered to 59-year-old Darlene Harbison, who has been missing from Frazier Township, Allegheny County, since September.

Pennsylvania State Police were called and, on arrival, human remains were found, the release states.

2 killed, including Westmoreland County man, in crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike – WPXI

5689224_web1_gtr-ProkopMissing20191105_0242JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two people were killed in a car crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County late Friday.

According to our news partners at the Trib, Pennsylvania State police were investigating the crash that happened in Jefferson Township near the border of Westmoreland and Somerset counties just after 9 p.m. Friday night.

Dustin Brant, 27, from Latrobe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

 Brant was traveling in a pickup truck that was found on the eastbound side of the turnpike.

An autopsy was being planned to determine the cause and manner of death, but it appeared to be accidental, Lichty added.

Cambria County Coroner Jeffrey Lees said the other individual, a Berks County man, was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, where he succumbed from his injuries.

Vehicle rolls onto its roof on I-279, 2 people hospitalized

NORTHVIEW HEIGHTS, Pa. — A vehicle ended up on its roof during an accident on I-279.

Allegheny County dispatchers say emergency crews were sent to the I-279 Northbound near Hazlett Street in Northview Heights at around 6:57 p.m.

Investigators say two people were taken to a hospital.

A second vehicle appeared to have hit the guardrail.

20-year-old killed in overnight crash on I-376 in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A 20-year-old was killed in a car crash that happened on I-376 overnight.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened on I-376 East off of 2nd Avenue in the City of Pittsburgh at around 3:18 a.m.

Police said just before the Oakland exit, the car went off the roadway and crossed the north fog line, entering the north shoulder hitting a pole.

The operator, identified as Jaqwan J. Walton, 20 years old, of McKeesport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the alleged driver, Norman Vire, 49, of Pittsburgh, was known to have an active arrest warrant.

The warrant issued for Thursday morning’s incident includes charges of fleeing and eluding police.

Vehicle crashes over hillside in Whitehall

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A vehicle crashed over a hillside in Whitehall on Sunday.

The Whitehall Fire Company says that the driver of the vehicle was able to get out before first responders arrived.

Firefighters helped stabilize the vehicle to keep it from going any farther down the hill and potentially into a home.

It’s unclear if the driver was injured.

First responder dies in multi-vehicle crash

Investigators were on scene for over five hours working to figure out the cause of the crash.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said Pittsburgh EMS found a man behind the wheel of the ambulance in cardiac arrest, he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The passenger in the ambulance suffered head trauma, facial lacerations, and a possible concussion, according to police.

The driver of another vehicle involved had stomach pain. Both this driver and the passenger of the ambulance were taken to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

No serious injuries were reported after a car crashed into a business in neighboring Armstrong County last week.

According to State Police, 20-year-old Carley Rosenberger of Ford City was traveling on River Road in Parks Township just before 4am on Thursday (November 24th) when she allegedly crashed into River Road Six Pack.

Authorities say that Rosenberger suffered minor injuries in the crash, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

During their investigation, police determined that Rosenberger was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

Officials plan to charge Rosenberger with DUI.

Man dead after rollover crash in Armstrong County

NORTH APOLLO BOROUGH, Pa. — A man is dead after a rollover crash in Armstrong County.

The Armstrong County Coroner said the man lost control of a 1989 Ford Mustang while traveling on Hickory Nut Road in North Apollo Borough. Officials believe the crash happened at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators believe the driver hit a mailbox and traveled up a driveway before hitting a tree, which caused the vehicle to roll over.

The driver has been identified as 27-year-old Brady Bollinger, of Blairsville. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Apollo Volunteer Fire Department, Kiski Volunteer Fire Department and firefighters from Vandergrift all responded to the scene.

Police: Pittsburgh teen dies in Mercer County rollover crash after pickup hits wrecked vehicle

A woman who was a passenger in a vehicle that rolled over after the driver lost control along Interstate 79 in Mercer County on Friday died when another car crashed into the wreck.

Danielle J. Duncan, 19, of Pittsburgh was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash near mile marker 129 in New Vernon Township, according to state police, who said the crash happened shortly after 8 p.m.

Investigators said Duncan was wearing a seat belt.

PITTSBURGH — One person was transported to a local hospital after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole overnight in the area of Grant Street and Fort Pitt Boulevard.

The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m.

EMS transported the person, who was in critical condition, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Channel 11 was there when first responders worked to clear the scene. The car was severely damaged by the impact.

At least 10 injured in head-on crash involving PRT bus near Pitt

Public Regional Transit police’s initial investigation found that the driver of the Jeep crossed the center line.

Chopper 11 was over the scene and captured crews as they worked to clear the crash, which occurred near Allequippa Street and Sutherland Drive.
